Where does the overlay show up?

The lyrics overlay appears when you are on a YouTube video page — the URL looks like youtube.com/watch?v=.... It also works on Spotify Web, YouTube Music, and SoundCloud while a song is actively playing.

Look for the small ♪ launcher button near the video player. Click it to open the floating lyrics panel directly over the video.

Why do I not see lyrics on channel or browse pages?

YouTube channel pages, search results, and the home feed are browsing pages — no song is actively playing. LyricsFlow needs an active audio track to identify the song and fetch synced lyrics, so the overlay only appears once you click into a video and hit play.

If you are already on a video page and still do not see the overlay, make sure the video is playing (not paused) and that the extension has permission to read the page.

Can I see lyrics in fullscreen?

Yes. The floating overlay automatically follows the video into fullscreen mode on YouTube. If you are using the separate popup window instead of the on-page overlay, that window is a browser popup and cannot layer over fullscreen video — use the ♪ launcher on the page itself for fullscreen lyrics.

The overlay is blocking the video

The on-page overlay is designed to be transparent and draggable. Click and drag the header to move it out of the way, or reduce the opacity in the popup settings. The popup window (opened from the extension icon) is a separate OS window and will always sit above other apps — it cannot show the video behind it.
